If you happen to be near Covington, Louisiana (across Lake Pontchartrain from New Orleans) on May 2nd, be sure to attend the 6th annual Cajun Comedy Show. Show organizer Jim Currie, an old friend of mine, says this year’s show may be the last, seeing as how they’ve already hosted “every famous Cajun humorist in the state.” In fact, this year’s headliners, Murray Conque of Carencro and Kent Gonsoulin of Baton Rouge, are appearing for the second time, having performed at the first show back in 2004. The program sells out every year, so get your tickets now.
