Subscriber of the Week
Fathiyyah
Fathiyyah Muhammad is one of the longest subscribers to my Politickles email list, and possibly my biggest fan (there are at least half a dozen others vying for the crown). She’s also a custom capmaker whose recycled denim toppers are worn by some of the most famous people in the world. I don’t know how she does it, but, whenever I’m feeling down, she sends me an email telling me how funny I am.
Last July, I sent out the following limericks:
McCAINICALLY INCLINED
“How the pundits like to laugh
At my web-assisting staff,
But technology
‘S nothing new to me –
I grew up with the telegraph!”SAY GOODNIGHT, AL!
“Who invented lightbulbs?” George asked Gracie.
“Why, everyone knows: Spencer Tracy!”
“And the phone?” “Oh, that’s easy.
Let me see — Don Ameche!”
“And Al Gore made the ‘Net?” “George, that’s crazy!”
And got this response from Fathiyyah:

It was perfect timing, as usual. I’d just been fired the week before and needed a lift.
