At the outset our standards were high,

\nWe\u2019ll do just what we must to get by.<\/div>\n

\nCelebrate with champagne and hoorays
\nAll three hundred and sixty-five days:
\nEvery eve is like New Year
\nWhen you have the right who there
\nAnd your hearts are two fireworks ablaze.

WHITE LIE
\nAs the years made them grayer and golder,
\nEvery New Year\u2019s he hugged her and told her

\nWas still young as could be \u2013
\nThough their children had gotten much older.

\nWe can\u2019t know what the future will bring,

BARACK AGAIN
\nSuffered three years so far of Obama
\nAnd Michelle, our new substitute mama:

\nAnd we won\u2019t have to stand
\nYet another full year of his drama.

\nThere were high points to Two-Thousand-Ten,
