This site was started January 2003 after I completely fell in love with The Lord of the Rings movies. Since then I have become an even greater fan of Tolkien's books.

Middle-earth was one of the first large fansites that focused on all of the characters rather than just a specific character or couple. We've come a long way and continue to grow, with a focus on interactivity and media.

In the time we have been online many people have copied and mimiced the way I do things here even to the extent of adding similiar pages just a few days after me.

Middle-earth is the home of the animated blend challenge. It was my own original idea. When I first launched it there was no such thing, but now a few sites have copied the idea. Other sites have also copied the way I make my Caption Contest awards and the way I handle the Guess Who Contest. Perhaps "copied" is not the right word for while it is frustrating when many of my original ideas are snatched up, I am flattered that many like the way I have kept this site maintained in its years online.

Middle-earth continues to strive to be a haven for the undying fans.
